Barnes and Noble

Each year AEF hosts one or two shopping days at El Cerrito Plaza Barnes & Noble, where families of Albany students can buy books for holiday gifts, and at the same time make a donation to the Albany school library of their choice. Each school’s library prepares a “Wish List” of books in high demand by their students. Then at this special shopping event, a parent, grandparent, or community member can buy and donate any one of the books on their school’s list in an effort to fill that AEF “wish list.”   This year's date is December 2, 2017

In addition to book donations, Barnes & Noble is generous enough to credit AEF with 20% of their day's proceeds when shoppers provide a form OR tell the cashier they want their purchase that day to benefit AEF. With that credit and a 20% discount on our purchases, the Albany Education Foundation is often able to complete each library’s wish list.

One year it took a hand truck to deliver the three boxes of donations just for the Albany High Library. At every site, students and staff were excited to see the glossy new books and materials arrive.
